Sondrestrom AB, Greenland.      Bill Nichols standing by a sign post.  Behind him is a bamboo frame supporting an insect net.  Scientists have erected these all about the McMurdo Base.  They are attempting to catch any insects that might be in the area.  So far, none have been discovered.  Mt. Discovery is seen in the distance.  Names by Scott.  The wind blows constantly in Antarctica.  The strongest sustained winds in the world have been recorded here.  Caption by Bill Nichols.  (Circa 1959)
