Original Alaskan Home of the Firebirds

Large hanger in front center is the original home of the 17th Troop Carrier Squadron in Alaska. A C-123 squadron occupied the left side of the hanger and the 17th TCS was housed on the right side nearest to the parking lot. The hangar burned when a F-106 skidded off of the runway and into the Firebirds "Aerie." See entire story here.
