On Final to Runway 10 at Sondrestrom

The approach to runway 10 was between the ridges which lined the sides of Sondre Stromfjord. Airport elevation was 165 feet. In the distance can be seen the Greenland Ice Cap with an "Aqua Velva" lake along its edge. To the right of the runway is the military side of the base and on the left is the SAS hotel and terminal. The dome shaped rock formation covering part of the Ice Cap is Sugarloaf.
