Reunion
Registration
Fee:

Despite rising costs, the reunion committee has been able to maintain a very reasonable registration fee. The registration fee helps defray reunion costs such as printing, postage, and the hospitality suite. The association plans to provide beer, frozen margaritas, soft drinks, munchies, and mixers in the Firebird hospitality suite.

A registration fee of $40.00 is charged per family or individual Firebird Association member. A family as defined by the Firebird Association is a mama bear, papa bear, and baby bears, and/or significant other.  Brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, in-laws, acquaintances, and Goldie Locks do not qualify as family members unless approved in advance.  When in doubt, just ask.  Non-family members should register separately.  No banquet/buffet ticket is included in the registration fee. Banquet tickets are $27.00 each.

Surviving Spouses
or Family:

The Association is offering a special invitation to surviving spouses or family of deceased members, and World War II members, who may wish to attend the reunion. These persons may participate by paying for their room and the individual activities, meals, and tours that they elect to attend. They will not be required to pay the membership or registration fee.

Cancellations:

In case the reunion is interrupted by forces beyond our control, registration fees will be refunded less pro rata share of all costs incurred. Cancellation requests must be made in writing to Bob Mattingly.

Requests for cancellation postmarked by March 15, 2016, will receive a full refund. Requests postmarked after March 15, 2016 and by April 1, 2016, will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be granted for requests postmarked after April 1, 2016, unless there is a bona fide emergency. No refunds will be made prior to the reunion. All refunds will be made within 10 days of completion of the reunion account balancing.

Comparison:

Another highly recommended and very popular C-130 reunion charged a $75.00 per person registration fee at their June 2011, reunion. This fee included an open bar in the hospitality room and the main dinner on Saturday night. Their second night event was a buffet, and the cost was $30.00 per person.  Room rate was $99.00 per night, plus tax.  The Saturday Only charge was $50.00 per person, and it included the banquet.

The Spectre Reunion, in 2010, also highly recommended, did not charge a registration fee, but had a pay as you go bar. The Saturday night banquet was $40.00 per person, and a Friday evening buffet cost $30.00 each. In addition, attendees had to be members of the Spectre Association, and the annual dues are $10.00.  Room rate at the Imperial Palace in Biloxi, MS, were $79/night for Thursday and Sunday, and $179/night for Friday & Saturday plus tax.
