Golf |

A
"preferred ball scramble" golf tournament will be held at 8:30 A.M.
on Monday, April 7th at the Bayou Golf Club in Texas City. The golf
registration fee will be $40.00 per person and will include the tournament,
lunch, and prizes. Play will begin with a shotgun start and will
probably take from 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Prizes will be given out at lunch
at the course immediately after the golf. The "Scramble"
format makes for an outing that is fun for all skill levels from the beginner
to the single digit handicap golfer. Each foursome is a single team and
everyone in the group is able to contribute no matter what their skill level.
Groups will be set up with an attempt to have golfers of varying skill levels
in each group. We will however honor special requests of players
wishing to be in the same group if this will not give the group an unfair
advantage over everyone else. We strongly encourage the ladies to play
and will set up groups with husbands and wives playing together if desired,
ladies scattered within different groups or separate groups of ladies
only. There will be prizes specifically for men, ladies or
both. I strongly encourage everyone at any skill level to come
out and enjoy the day. For
additional information, you can contact Alan Anderson at "e" mail: aca3@geneseo.net or telephone
(888)441-6060. |

Again, the
Association plans to offer a tour for those attendees who would like to
participate. Whether a tour "makes" depends upon the number of
persons who sign up for a particular trip.

NOTICE: Due to circumstances
beyond our control, those early registrants paying less than the final price
for a meal, or activity, will be asked to make up any difference at the
reunion. If one has paid for a tour or activity that does not occur because
of a lack of participation, or paid too much because an original price has
been reduced, he or she will be given a refund at the registration table in

fishermen. Everything is provided except for food and beverage of one’s
choice. Reservations must be made by March 1, 2008 (first come...first

made. Cost will be
$75.00 per person plus a 15% gratuity. Two boats
have been reserved with a maximum capacity of six persons per boat. One boat has already filled and the other

Treasure Island Tour
Train: http://www.galveston.com/treasureisletourtrain/ Arrangements have been for a Monday morning tour of Galveston
Island. Normally, the tour departs from 25th &
Seawall Blvd. However, for a
small additional fee the Association has arranged for the tour to begin at
the hotel. Those wishing to take the
tour will be picked up at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. on April 7th, weather
permitting. The cost will be only $10.00 per person,
and is limited to 70 people. The return will be approximately 10:30
a.m. The tour covers
17 miles and is a talking/riding tour. This is the Train Ride that they
advertise--it's really a three-car tram pulled by a John Deere tractor with a
wooden box on the front, painted like a train. Everyone should dress
warmly. Galveston can be pretty cold in the early mornings of April,
and windy, too. Of course, if the weather doesn't permit, the
Association will refund the $10 per person fee. Taken From Galveston CVB Site (below): Enjoy a 1 1/2 hour, 17 mile narrated tour around
the Island City on the Galveston Sightseeing Train! This fun ride covers both Old and New Galveston - including Seawall
Boulevard, the remains of Fort Crockett, historic homes, Rosenberg Library,
churches, the downtown business district, the shrimp fleet, Jean Lafitte's
home, Moody Mansion, the Bishop's Palace, Ashton Villa, the Strand Historic
District, the University of Texas Medical Branch, and dozens of other places
of interests. Treasure Island
Tour Train is the Island's oldest operating tour train, established in 1962. |
