David LeGrande Strange April 6, 1930 - May 6, 2012 |

Mr. David LeGrande Strange, age 82,
(United States Air Force Retiree) passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the
McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness. Born in Dillon County, SC, on April 6, 1930, he was the son of
the late Gary Alexander Strange, Sr. and Ola Smith Strange. He was a devoted husband,
father, and grandfather. He faithfully served his country in the United
States Air Force and retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was a member of Main Street United
Methodist Church in McColl, and a member of the American Legion Post Number
60. He also worked as a mechanic for
Sylvania Shoe, was a former truck driver with Horst Milk Transfer Company and
was a security guard with USA Security. He was a toy collector and loved
swimming. Mr. David is survived by his wife, Betsy D. Strange of the home;
sons, David L. Strange, Jr. and wife Brenda of Waynesboro, PA, Steven D. Strange
and wife, Amy of Greenwood, SC and a stepson, Joe Statler
of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Lisa R. Bumbaugh and
husband, Dennis of Chambersburg, PA, Ann M. Williams and husband, Rob Steele
of Felton, DE, and a stepdaughter, Jaime R, Fennell and husband, Jason of
Rocky Point, NC; a brother, Gary A, Strange, Jr. of Sophie, NC; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; also
a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and a
sister, Mary Strange Bullard. Memorials are suggested to The Special Olympics of SC-Area 2,
