Lt. Col. William Mead Nichols, 62st TCS

April 20, 1930 - October 19, 2014

 

 

William (Bill) M. Nichols, Lt. Col, USAF, (Ret,), age 84, of Jacksonville, Arkansas was called home to the Lord and joined his wife and best friend of 55 years, Priscilla M. Nichols, on Oct 19, 2014. He was born April 20, 1930 in Groton, New York to the late Ambrose F. Nichols and Laura G. Nichols. He is survived by his sons, William L. Nichols (Carole) and Douglas M. Nichols and grandchildren, Andy (Katie) and Rachel Nichols.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Priscilla, in 1952. He proudly served his country for 28 years in the USAF flying B-25's, T-28's, C-47's, C-54's, C-119's, C-124's, AC-130's, and C-130's. Bill was stationed throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Far East, including two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He retired in Arkansas to a life of golf, fishing, gardening, and church fellowship.

Bill was a wonderful, loving, caring, faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and Christian who put family, friends, and God first. He will be dearly missed.
