Charles D. “C.D.” Adams, Jr.

 

March 31, 1931 – April 6, 2015

 

Charles D. “C.D.” Adams, Jr., 84 of Paris, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled a family graveside committal, at Union Grove Cemetery, Friday morning, April 10, 2015, followed by a 2:00 pm, Memorial Service at First Baptist Church in Paris. Officiating will be Reverend Randall Scott and Reverend Ken Cannon. Mr. Adams was born March 31, 1931 in Houston to Charles Day Adams, Sr. and Ethyl Lyle Adams. He married Mary L. Nash in Texarkana, AR, July 4, 1951, building over 63 years of family and memories. “C.D.” retired from the U.S. Air Force, as a Major, after 20 years of faithful service to our country.

He graduated from The University of Omaha in 1966 and later received his master’s degree from East Texas State University.  Known by many as “Mr. Bealls,” C.D. was employed at the Paris store for 29 years. He was a proud and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Paris. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Robert Adams; a granddaughter, Amy Adams and a grandson, Michael McMonigle. Survivors include his wife Mary; one daughter, Debbie Brackett & husband Kenny of The Colony; three sons, Jim Adams & wife Linda of Blossom, Charles M. Adams & wife Pam of Plano and Jeff Adams & wife Stephanie of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Joseph Adams, Jeremy McMonigle, Benji Adams, Laura Adams, Ean Adams, Larissa McGee and Jonathan Carlson; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Melton of Paris along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of usual floral memorials the family requests memorial gifts be made, in memory of “C.D.”, to the “Finish The Race” fund at First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 489, Paris, Texas 75461-0489.
